At this time of year we all start looking forward to the holidays and spending time with family and friends. Christmas shopping is in full, the TV is showing this years Christmas commercials – John Lewis with Edgar the dragon, Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot and of course the Coca Cola truck. The latest one to go viral is for Hafod Hardware, which unlike the huge budget commercial was made with a budget of £100. If you haven’t seen it yet take a look on YouTube
At Retox we’re animal crazy and the Dogs Trust commercial really pulls at our heart strings with their message that a dog is for life and not just for Christmas. With this sentiment in mind we have decide to give a helping hand to the wonderful team at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter this Christmas who work hard to care for and re home abandoned and neglected animals across the Newcastle region.
Each year Retox Digital make a donation to a local charity instead of sending out paper Christmas Cards to all of our lovely friends and clients. As self-proclaimed animal lovers, the team decided the best way to show our love at this festive time was to donate bags of love (food) and collect blankets for our local shelter. Newcastle Dog and Cat shelter do some amazing work with animals big and small, from dogs and cats to horses and rabbits, who need a little help finding their paws and their forever homes. We thought that with Christmas just around the corner warm bedding and delicious grub would be the perfect gift for the pooches and moggies.
Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter rely totally on donations so, if you can help them by making a donation or helping to re home a dog or cat that needs a forever home, please get in touch with them.
So, how do you make your business’ voice heard?
It all comes down to good SEO practice. If you are updating your website on a regular basis, adding new pages and amending existing ones this will show Search Engines that you are active and that you are making a conscious effort to contribute to the online community. You should also ensure that your Meta Keywords and descriptions are both up-to-date and correct; these are essential as your user will literally be saying these words when searching for what they want.
Not only should you be showing the correct information, but you should really be aiming to have all your grammar and spelling checked and double-checked. We all know what it’s like trying to understand a robotic voice that can’t pronounce names and places correctly and having typos in the content will make that voice so much more unbearable. Your user will be much more likely to pay attention if what their Siri/Alexa/Google is saying actually makes sense.
But don’t just focus on your website. Search Engines love to see that you are invested in your online presence. You need to be updating your Social Media with good quality content on a regular basis. The more you post on Social Media, the more your brand is appearing online and, especially, on Search Engines. Once your online presence has been established and built up you will start appearing higher and higher in the Search Engine rankings and, in turn, having your brand appear in the voice searches used by your consumers.
